Hi, I’m Sierra, and I’m glad you’re here.

I’m a social worker and educator at heart who loves to help people identify, celebrate, and heal their authentic selves and find what serves them.  I have a passion for social justice and an appreciation for the diversity of minds, bodies, identities, and cultures.  I use a holistic approach to therapy to help me understand you and how you interact with your world so that I can better support you through any number of concerns.  My work is collaborative in that I trust you to make decisions that are best for you, but I will also challenge you with insight, suggestions, and new techniques.  Being pushed from our comfort zones is often the best way to see growth, but I also know that change can be intimidating.  It’s important to acknowledge that the change that we crave is often inaccessible if we don’t feel safe in our bodies or our environments, so my goal is to help you identify and advocate for your needs, boundaries, and desires first and foremost.

Professionally, I’m a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Social Work and School of Education.  I have a decade of teaching experience at the high school and undergraduate levels that I use in combination with my therapeutic knowledge.   I find that many folks I work with were not given the proper education to support their physical, mental, emotional, and/or sexual health (often due to stigma), and I love to help people unlearn pieces that may be holding them back and gain new insight into how to better care for themselves.  I am certified in Trauma-Informed Practices and School Social Work, and I am trained in EMDR Therapy for folks who are interested in trying new modalities.

Personally, I’m a queer, neurodivergent, nature-lover who runs for my own mental and physical health.  I’ve been a Michigander my whole life, and I currently live outside of Ann Arbor with my partner and our 37 houseplants.  We love sunrise hikes, the Great Lakes, and baked goods.

Throughout my practice, I have worked mainly with neurodivergent folks, LGBTQ+ or nonbinary/gender non-conforming folks, and people navigating trauma and its effects.  I have a great deal of knowledge in the transitions that teens and adults experience and how overwhelming the world feels at these unstable and ever-changing stages.  My experience has given me insight into the unique needs and desires of people with different minds, sensory sensitivities, or physical abilities and characteristics that play into their capacity to feel comfortable with themselves in all situations.  My goal is to provide you with a safe space to be yourself and feel more affirmed in whichever identities feel most salient to you at this stage in your life, while providing guidance and tools to help you navigate changes and challenges as they arise.

I follow a sex-positive and sexuality-affirming framework, which includes recognition and support for asexual and demisexual folks.  I believe that sexual and relationship wellness are key to overall well-being, and I hope to help you build healthier connections with your body, mind, partner or partners, and sexual health.
